January 2023 Update: We are pleased to bring you an update on the latest developments from the project regarding Dorset Council’s Eastern Area Planning Committee, which took place on Wednesday 11th January 2023. After reviewing our project’s planning application in full, Dorset Council’s Planning Committee have granted approval for The Moors at Arne to proceed, stipulating a set of planning conditions that we must fulfil to meet the terms of their approval. You can read our Press Release here.
This is a milestone for the project, allowing the project to enter a new phase, and we will be working to ensure the scheme fulfils each of the planning conditions stipulated by Dorset Council.
We will continue to share other relevant updates and information regarding the project, and look forward to circulating more details about the next phases of the scheme soon.
March 2023 Site Update: The contractor appointed by the Environment Agency to deliver the work on the ground, Kier, have recently begun preliminary work on various parts of Arne Moors. The photos above show views from the compound field looking north, and gorse cutting taking place on the site.
In order to avoid the bird nesting season and with permission from Natural England they have begun to undertake vegetation management work prior to site preparation works being carried out later in the year. All operations will be overseen by a qualified ecologist to ensure that there is no accidental damage to the special nature conservation interests of the site. Vegetation that has been cut onsite will not be taken away but left on site to reduce the need for additional road traffic.
We will continue to share other relevant updates and information regarding the project, and look forward to circulating more details about the next phases of the scheme soon.
